- The Believers' Status 1In these messages on the believers we shall cover the believers’ status, designations, symbols, life, nature, past, present, and future. We shall begin with the believers’ status, and in this message we shall cover the believers’ status before they were saved.1
- The Believers Status 2In this message we shall begin to consider the believers’ status after they have been saved.1
- The Believers Status 3We have seen that in their status after being saved the believers are children of God, sons of God, and partakers of the divine nature. In this message we shall consider the believers’ status as heirs of God.1
- The Believers Status 4In this message we shall cover further aspects of the believers’ status after they are saved.1
- The Believers Status 5In this message we shall cover more aspects of the believers’ status after being saved.1
- The Believers Status 6In this message we shall cover the three remaining aspects of the believers’ status after being saved: co-kings of Christ, partakers of the Holy Spirit, and heavenly citizens.1
- The Believers-Their Designation 1(1) In this message we shall begin to cover the four designations of the believers given in the New Testament: disciples, believers, saints, and Christians.1
- The Believers-Their Designation 2We have seen that in the New Testament the believers in Christ are designated disciples and believers. In this message we shall cover the two remaining designations of the believers in the New Testament—saints and Christians.1
- The Believers-Their Symbols 1In the New Testament there are even more symbols of the believers than of the Spirit. This indicates that as God, Christ, and the Spirit are mysterious, so the believers also are mysterious. We are mysterious because something divine has been incorporated into us. The divine element has been dispensed into us and wrought into our being. As a result, we, the believers in Christ, are mysterious. In this message we shall begin to consider the many symbols of the believers found in the New Testament.1
- The Believers-Their Symbols 2In this message we shall cover six more symbols of the believers: a lamp, a city situated upon a mountain, the sun, virgins, plants, and living stones.1
- The Believers-Their Symbols 3In this message we shall consider more symbols of the believers found in the New Testament.1
- The Believers-Their Symbols 4In this message we shall cover five more symbols of the believers used in the New Testament: vessels of mercy unto honor and glory, branches of the cultivated olive tree, a spectacle, the offscouring of the world and the scum of all things, and the temple of the Holy Spirit.1
- The Believers-Their Symbols 5In this message we shall cover more symbols of the believers: threshing oxen, runners in a race and contenders in a game, workman in carpentry, nursing mother, father, wise master builder, ambassadors, stewards, captives of Christ in His triumphal procession, and incense-bearers.1
- The Believers-Their Symbols 6In this message we shall cover the following New Testament symbols of the believers: letters of Christ, mirrors, earthen vessels, pillars, luminaries in the world, good soldiers of Christ, and laboring husbandmen.1
- The Believers-Their Symbols 7We come now to the last four New Testament symbols of the believers: stars, the man-child, the firstfruit and the harvest, and jasper and other precious stones.1
- The Believers-Their LifeIn the foregoing messages on the believers we have covered the believers’ status, designations, and symbols. These three matters all deal with what the believers are. Because the believers are a certain kind of person, they have a particular status, they are designated in definite ways, and they are symbolized by many different kinds of things. We come now to the believers’ life.1
- The Believers-Their NatureWe have seen in the foregoing message that the believers’ life is in three stages: God’s creation, the fall, and God’s salvation. The same is true of the believers’ nature. Therefore, in this message we shall consider the believers’ nature in God’s creation, in the fall, and in God’s salvation.1
- The Believers-Their PastIn the two preceding messages we covered the believers’ life and nature. Now in this message we shall consider the believers’ past both in eternity and in time.1
- The Believers-Their Present 1We have covered the believers’ status, designations, symbols, life, nature, and past. Now we come to the most crucial section of these messages on the believers—their present. We shall begin with the initial stage of God’s full salvation, the stage of regeneration.1
- The Believers-Their Present 2In this message we shall cover more aspects of God’s calling of the believers.1
- The Believers-Their Present 3In this message we shall see that, as part of their present, the believers have been sanctified by the Spirit and that they have repented.1
- The Believers-Their Present 4In this message and in the message following we shall seek to give a thorough definition of what it means for a Christian to believe in Christ.1
- The Believers-Their Present 5In this message we shall cover more aspects of our believing. After we consider these matters, we should have an accurate and thorough description of our believing in Christ.1
- The Believers-Their Present 6According to the New Testament, the believers have not only believed in Christ but have also been baptized. Baptism is even more difficult to define than faith is.1
- The Believers-Their Present 7In this message we shall continue to see the significance of the believers’ being baptized.1
- The Believers-Their Present 8We have seen that, concerning their present, the believers have been called by God, they have been separated unto God by the Spirit, they have repented, they have believed, and they have been baptized. Now we need to see that the believers have been joined to the processed Triune God.1
- The Believers-Their Present 9In this message we shall continue to see how the believers, in the initial stage of God’s full salvation, are joined to the processed Triune God.1
- The Believers-Their Present 10Concerning the believers’ present, we have seen that the believers have been called, that they have been sanctified by the Spirit, that they have repented, and that they have believed, have been baptized, and have been joined to the processed Triune God. Now we shall see that, as a crucial part of their present, the believers have been redeemed.1
- The Believers-Their Present 11In the foregoing message we saw that the believers have been redeemed by being bought and by being forgiven of their sins. In this message we shall see that the believers have been redeemed by being freed, washed, and sanctified.1
- The Believers-Their Present 12In this message we shall see that, as redeemed ones, the believers have been justified and then reconciled to God in the first step. Because we have been bought, forgiven, freed, washed, and sanctified, we have no problems before God. Thus, God is fully positioned to justify us.1
- The Believers-Their Present 13Concerning the believers’ present, we have covered God’s calling, the Spirit’s sanctification, and our repentance, our believing, and our being baptized. We have also seen that the believers have been joined to the Triune God and redeemed. Now we need to see that, as believers in Christ, we have been made a new creation. First, God called us, separated us, and turned us to Him. Then we repented, believed, and were baptized. As a result, we have been redeemed and joined to the Triune God to be made a new creation.1
- The Believers-Their Present 14In the foregoing message we saw that the believers are made a new creation by being regenerated. In this message we shall go on to see that the believers are made a new creation by receiving the Spirit of God and by having the eternal life.1
- The Believers-Their Present 15In the two preceding messages we have seen that the believers are made a new creation by being regenerated, by receiving the Spirit of God, and by having the eternal life. In this message we shall see that the believers are made a new creation also by being renewed and by being transferred.1
- The Believers-Their Present 16We have seen that the believers are made a new creation by being regenerated, by receiving the Spirit, by having eternal life, by being renewed, and by being transferred. In this message we shall see that, as the last matter concerning the believers being made a new creation, we are made a new creation by being freed.1
- The Believers-Their Present 17We have seen that in the initial stage of God’s full salvation, the stage of regeneration, the believers have been called by God, have been sanctified by the Spirit, have repented and believed, have been baptized and joined to the processed Triune God, have been redeemed, and made a new creation. Now we need to see that, as believers in Christ, we have been saved.1
- The Believers-Their Present 18In the foregoing message we saw that the believers are saved by God in His trinity and that they are saved with assurance. Now we shall go on to see the security of our salvation, and then we shall cover the matter of clearing the past.1
